Finding Balance Through the Empowerment of the Lower Abdomen

The lower abdomen is the primary center for balance and support in the body. It is also a place of receptivity, prana, and inner feeling. In all the internal arts, the lower belly is the seat of vitality and the source of the body’s internal breath. In this practice, we tap into the vital reservoir of blood and chi in the lower abdomen by studying the complex relationships between the iliopsoas muscle, the uterus, bladder, and colon.

Yoga Bandha with Somatic Movement and Yin Practice

Each daily practice will include somatic practices, yoga, and pranayama. We devote time and attention to exploring the all important connection to the lift of uddiyana bandha in the lower abdomen. While many practices emphasize a tightening of this area, we do poses to stretch, expand, and elevate the deep belly without force or strain. You will discover that by properly engaging your lower belly, you can recharge the bioelectric field of your entire body.
